There are few treks in Nepal that match the geographic and cultural diversity of the Annapurna Circuit. The exhilaration of crossing a high mountain pass, and the unsurpassed view of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Manaslu ranges make this an outstanding trek. The trek heads up the Marsyandi, with ornate Hindu temples, forests of oak, and tumbling waterfalls, and then gives way to the starker terrain of Manang valley. This change of geography also marks a change of culture, with Buddhist mani walls and chortens lining the trails to the important trading village of Manang.

The ascent to the Thorang La (5,416m) marks the highpoint of our trek, with ridge after snow-covered ridge leading to the summits of the Annapurna range. The trek proceeds to Muktinath, an important pilgrimage site with its sacred Buddhist and Hindu temples, and then enters the upper sections of the Kali Gandaki gorge, the deepest gorge in the world. From these windswept alpine meadows we descend through conifer forest to sub-tropical mandarin, and to the hot spring of Tatopani, a descent of 4,000 meters from the summit of our trek, the Thorang La pass.
