The treks in the Langtang Valley, Gosaikund and Helambu each have their own character. The walk up the Langtang Valley
roughly follows the river through pleasant forests and occasional villages before reaching the open alpine country,
encircled by massive snowy peaks. Gosaikund follows a pilgrimage route. It's a fine open ridge walk with the high point
being a series of beautiful views of the crystal lakes of Gosaikund, which are surrounded by rock and tussock, and are
stark in their beauty. The panoramas along the hike are expansive, and include the huge Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and
Annapurna ranges. Helambu, on the other hand, is most definitely a cultural trek. Although there are views of the
mountains, it is the people and their villages that are most memorable.
